Auto Glass Features
What does my vehicle have?
Below are some of the most common types of accessories installed by manufacturer. If you have more than these base four, that may require us to go through your vehicles dealership to get a part.
Lane Departure Warning System
A Lane Departure Warning System is a mechanism that alerts a driver when they are changing between lanes without using a signal. This function is controlled by camera attached to the windshield.
Rain sensor
There are a few easy ways to tell if your vehicle has a rain sensor system. If your vehicle’s windshield wipers turn on automatically, then your vehicle has a rain sensor system. There is also a square panel where the rearview mirror is. Rain and light sensors can appear very similar. Cars can have one or both. A rain sensor system turns the wipers on automatically by detecting rain on the windshield.
Heads up display
A Heads Up Display, or HUD for short, project data such as speed, temperature, navigation instructions onto the windshield so that drivers do not have to look away from the road. This allows drivers the ability to have important information readily available without taking his or her away from safe viewpoints.
Heaters & Wiper PaRks
A Heated Wiper Park area prevents freezing and slush accumulation in the area where your wipers rest at the bottom of the windshield. The lines you see are actually heated tracks that contain very small, thin wires. These lines are typically black, brown or red and can sometimes be hard to notice at first glance. Often, vehicles have a button inside the car that allows the drive to turn on this function. Rear Glass will typically consist of a major heater.
